Cheesecake Factory, rambling

A little bit ago, Mom and I ate at Cheesecake Factory. We both got turkey burgers and sweet potato fries. It was DELISH!!

As filler, have you been to FroYo? Or something with a different name but similar to FroYo? Probably. What's your fav? I usually go for vanilla with fruits. Usually stick to bananas and strawberries.

And Olive Garden. Hello, best chain restaurant ever. I love the salad and bread sticks, of course. And usually I get the Fettuccine Alfredo, no chicken. But lately, I've opted for healthier entrees. Like the Apricot Chicken. I prefer Fettuccine Alfredo.

We bought some turkey hot dogs from Dierberg's over the weekend. They're amazing! I wish I could remember the brand!

Jason's Deli, Stadium Food, and Cicero's.

Mom and I went to Jason's Deli when we were in Iowa a couple of month's ago. I had their chicken salad. It was awesome. But, when we were back a week ago (in the Chesterfield Valley), we ordered Caesar Salads, with chicken. The chicken was totally awesome! I didn't eat much dressing, but would have liked to, because it was delicious, as well.

And, in honor of Opening Days everywhere, I thought I'd chat about Stadium food, the REAL reason I go to baseball games. I'm just kidding, St. Louis.

I was lucky enough to attend Opening Day with my wonderful bf, and sat next to some pretty fun dudes. Rich, Matt and Chris? I dubbed them LFO, because of Rich.. I don't remember the names of all LFO band mates, and clearly, I don't remember the names of the cool guys I sat next to at the game.. except for Rich. ANYWAY, Rich was all about trying the new food. The only one I witnessed was the Brat-zel.  As in, bratwurst wrapped in soft pretzel. He said it was pretty dece. I, however, do not like bratwurst. Gimme a pretzel-dog.

The most popular new item seems to be the Bacon Wrapped BBQ Dog. When Rich went to order, they were all out. And it was post 7th inning, which means no more booze, so Rich came back empty handed. Poor, Rich. I stick to the usuals.. Hot dog, nachos, french fries and bud light. Has anyone had stadium french fries? Ours are AMAZING!!

Here's the article about Busch Stadium's new stuff.

Saturday night, we went out to Cicero's in the loop, to see a friend's friend's band. I had Cicero's Chicken Club Salad. It was GREAT! The chicken was fabulous and the Ranch dressing was UNREAL! I will def be back to try more food!

Majestic

Happy 2 days before the St. Louis Cardinal's Home Opener!

Over the weekend we ate at Majestic. A totally awesome, dive-y, diner-ish spot in the heart of the Central West End. Majestic is on the corner of Laclede and Euclid.. or Euclid and Laclede, you can't miss it! We were there for their Greek Independence Day celebration and had a blast! The kitchen stayed open until 11pm, which I believe is normal, like.. they weren't staying open later just for us. I had a Greek Salad, it was totally delish! I don't usually never order Greek Salads, but had read on somebody's review how good they were, so I obviously had to try one! It did not disappoint! I also had a gyro, of course. I think their 'original' gyro. Meat, feta cheese, a few slices of tomato and onions, in a pita. I dumped the onions, because that's what I do. Regardless, it was to die for! I tried a couple of steak fries.. they were just your average steak fries, but we ate them all! And then, of course, I went home with a generous helping of Baklava! This was my first memorable experience with Baklava and it was so melt-in-your-mouth, amazing!! I have the ultimate hook-up at Majestic, so if you're dying to bring Baklava home to your momma, you better contact me, so I can contact Louie.

If I had stars to give, I would give Majestic 6 stars, on a 5-star-scale. For atmosphere, food, fun and overall experience.

Fox and Hound and Syberg's

Saturday night, Mom, Dad and I went to Fox and Hound in the Valley. Umm, it was ok. Service wasn't great. I couldn't tell if the girl was new and nervous, or just weird. Dad asked for a Miller Geniue Draft. She had to go check on it. Returned in about 15 minutes, said no. Dad asked for Bud Select. She returned in about 15 minutes with a Bud Light. We wouldn't have noticed the Bud Light versus Bud Select, except that she asked dad if he wanted another Bud Light, when his Bud Light was still half full. I guess she's a pessimist. I ordered Mahi Mahi with Broccoli instead of rice. I inhaled it. And it was good. Mom had a Cobb salad, and added grilled chicken. The chicken was delicious. Very tender. And dad had a cheese burger. I think he liked it. The french fry (notice singular!) I had was ok.

Sunday night, Mom, Dad, Wes and I went to Syberg's. This was my second time. First time I ordered apps and they were all delicious (potato skins, fries, sampler, wings, etc). This time I ordered their D'Angelo Grilled Chicken Salad (Mom, too). It is tossed in their originial wing sauce, which isn't terrible. I thought it was very mayonnaise-y (Wes, too), however, couldn't be! Because it was in the fat burning zone! Anyway, I didn't eat much of it, because it was so spicy! And, to be honest, I've had enough salad for 16 million rabbits. Thank you, 17 Day Diet. Wes had wings and fries, he liked both. His wings had the same sauce our salads did. Dad had a cajun burger. He doesn't usually order anything cajun, I think he liked it. And, of course, the French Fry I had was great!

Fox and Hound is in the valley, I hear they have great pizza. I'm not sure if there is another one in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Syberg's is downtown, at Dorsett and 270 and in the valley.

BRAVO! BRAVO!

Yesterday, Wes and I went to Bravo! for lunch.. I think younger brother of the restaurant Brio. Anyway, I'd been to Brio, this was my first time at Bravo!, Wes's too.

Of course they bring bread.. Wes said it wasn't so great.. he said it tasted like Hardee's biscuits, haha. (I make him eat everything I can't and tell me about it, darn you 17 Day Diet!) (10 more days!) We both ordered the Bravo! Chopped Salad.. with Italian Dressing, I'm assuming their house dressing.. it was very good. I ate very minimal dressing, I knew that wasn't allowed on the diet. Wes ordered the Classico Pepperoni Pizza and ate most of it, it musta been great.. I know he was starving.. food is always more delicious when you're starving. I ordered Tilapia with Crab on it. It was amazing! Too delicious for the 17 Day Diet. It came with a butter sauce that was already on the plate, but I tried to eat from the other no-butter side of the tilapia. The Crab was amaze, too! The veggies were totally cooked in butter, too. So basically, I cheated without intending to cheat! I should have just had Wes's pizza!

I will definitely go back when I can eat like the champ I am!

If you're in STL, Bravo! is at West County Mall, Brio is in the parking lot at Plaza Frontenac.

Cheesecake Factory

Hiya!

Last night my bf took me to the Cheesecake Factory. I wouldn't have normally picked the Cheesecake Factory, because portions are ridic, and I eat every thing (first I wrote 'everyone' haha) on my plate. Just like my mom tells me to do. So, Mom and I started the 17 Day Diet. Gasp! But, basically guaranteed you lose 10 lbs in the first 17 days. And anyone can do anything for 17 days, right? 1 down, 16 to go. Anyway, on the diet.. you eat all the veggies you want, only two fruits and before 2 pm, lean meats.. mostly chicken and fish.. and two probiotics (yogurt, cottage cheese, kefir, etc).. Why am I telling you this? Because, last night at Cheesecake Factory, I couldn't get the delish taquitos (appetizer), I usually prefer.. I had to get chicken and veggies.. so I ordered the Grilled Chicken Medallions.. they were SO WONDERFUL!!

I don't go to Cheesecake much, so I haven't been through the menu. But I think the food is pretty good in general. St. Louis has one at Chesterfield Mall, and the Galleria.. I haven't seen it anywhere else. Have you?

Culpepper's CWE

Sunday, Wes and I ate at the Culpepper's in the Central West End. The address is on N. Euclid.. but it's at the corner of Euclid and Maryland. We sat outside and service wasn't great. But the place was pretty busy.. we cut our waitress some slack, we could tell she was working hard! We both ordered wings.. Wes said Houlihan's wings were better, I haven't had those yet.. I went for boneless wings.. easier to eat in wind, and with my hair blowing all around.. Wes said he used to go for boneless as well, but wings with bones are better. And he's right. Go for bones.

I ordered a salad, too. Our waitress asked if bacon and something else were ok, and I said yes, but I didn't have bacon nor that something else on my salad, so I was a bit confused by that. And that salad was just ok. Wes had a BLT, no T and I think, liked it. The french fries are great.. I ate some of his.

If it's a nice day, go to the CWE and eat outside. There's lots of places to eat and lots going on. It's especially great for people watching! Bring your shades, so no one can see your eyeballs!
